VidFest Presentation

This is a loosely chronological survey of my work from my teenage fanzine artwork to screenshots of The Matrix Online, for which I wrote story continuity over the first few years of its existence. SF illustration, movie storyboards, advertising art and plenty of Concrete and other comics work included. It was part of my talk with Mark Verheiden, then a Battlestar Galactica writer/producer, to Vidfest 2007 in Vancouver BC.

He looks white and furry, not grey and made of concrete.

First let me say I'm so glad I kept you in my Bloglines lineup during all those months you weren't posting. It is so good to have you back.
And I hope they will cease and desist but not before I get my hands on a pair.

Mark Verheiden

I can't believe that VidFest deal was already 2 1/2 years ago. I'm glad to see you up and blogging again!

Nat Gertler

Besides "Concrete underwear" sounds like something the Mafia threatens to fit you for.

Dan

It is great to hear that your health is improving, and that, among other things, you're able to do some more "Concrete" work as well as more blogging.

On a very tangentially related note, I wonder whether you might blog about a "Concrete" video that's posted on You Tube. It's mixed CGI and live action and purports to be test footage for a 2001 movie. Is that "real"?

If you haven't seen it but want to, you can find it easily by going to You Tube and searching for "Concrete Chadwick." It'll be the top video in the search results.

Lukas

Wow! I read all of the Concrete tpbs last year and occasionally tuned in to this blog to see what was up - since it was so infrequently updated I forgot about it.

So I visit this place today and I go from concern (you and your wife's illnesses) to joy (a new page of Conrete in progress). A bit of a rollercoasster!

As for these shorts: There are very clear similarities but Concrete's design, though beautiful (imo) is very simplistic, probably would be chalked up to coincidence - but I'm going to visit Old Navy soon and see if I can snatch a pair (if that's okay).

Jim Cripps

I'd love to have these, especially if these were licensed! Tho' I do agree, it is similar, but not exact to Concrete. Kudos to you for running across it!

Somehow my warning system didn't say you'd made a new post. Missed it until now. Hope you guys are doing better.

Love those shorts...someone has good taste, if not good ethics.
