Hi Carole! Yes, Shalom is spelled shin, lamed, vav, mem sufit which is the mem form which apperas at the end of a word. The vav is just a line.שלוםYes, the New Moon last month was sighted on the 31 August. Tonight we were in Jerusalem and did not see the New Moon even though the NASA data agreed (for once) with the rabbinical calendar that tonight should have been the start of the 7th month. According to the sighting, it's not! So we will look again tomorrow night and if we see the sliver of the new moon, we'll blow the shofar to announce the Day of Trumpets which is the countdown to Yom Kippur and Feast of Tabernacles. I'm so thrilled that you've been studying the Moedim the Appointed Times of our LORD! It's an adventure that continues well into the future, according to Zechariah 14 and beyond. I ate some apples and honey today yummy!!
