I storyboarded Pee Wee's Big Adventure for Tim Burton.  So I got this inquiry this week:

I know you are a very busy person, but I hope you can answer a question for me (or direct me to someone who can).

On Pee Wee Herman's bicycle in the Big Adventure, what is the black base of the Lion's Head made of? I am building a replica of this bicycle (it is my favorite movie of all time).

I wish I knew.  I mean, how cool is that?

Butterflies

I'm giving a speech tomorrow night in Seattle.  There's a longstanding cartoonist's organization in Seattle -- Cartoonists Northwest -- and this is their awards banquet.

I'll just give a rundown of my career, stories about editors and colleagues, that sort of thing.

Shop talk, which, as a matter of fact, I enjoy quite a bit.
