Off Vancouver

Inspired by Craig Thompson's magnificent published travel sketchbook, Carnet de Voyage, I've been sketching in recent years at a size and on paper that later I ink in a comics style, creating (I hope) publishable images that will see the printing press one day.

Here's one from last summer.  Was it Rememberance Day?  I just remember we saw both multibillion-dollar warships and a nude bikeride protest on the same day.  O Canada.

Sorry, I didn't sketch the bike riders.

if you are ever in the mood to go exploring on your own or with friends, I recommend biking through the city. You see a lot more from your bike than you would from an automobile. One of my favorite bike trips is taking the pandora jewellry . bike lane downtown through the city, then over the Detroit Superior Bridge. You can bike down Detroit Rd. all the way until Lincoln Park, which is part of the Cleveland Metroparks and is a beautiful oasis of green in the city.
